WELCOME TO CASAROMA WELLNESS CENTRE

My name is Laurena Downie although many people will call me Lyzalee or just Lee. I am the Co-Founder of Casaroma Wellness. I live in rural Nova Scotia but I was born in Quebec, spent my teenage years in Northern, B.C. and have spent my adult years in Nova Scotia. I have loved each place I have lived and have found special something in the memories of those places. I have 2 biological children and 1 stepson all of which are adults now and starting their own families. One lives in Western Canada and the others in Nova Scotia. I live with my husband and 2 dogs on a small piece of property where we garden, raise chickens and walk our woods, I absolutely love nature and animals. This is my piece of paradise.

Allana and I started this business together from day 1. We have been in this business for over 25 years, we are a mother and daughter team and before opening Casaroma we had worked together for many, many years in the retail industry. We opened up this business with a vision of being able to make a difference in peoples lives. Our business is based on getting back to health through aromatherapy, nutrition and complementary health services and machines. We have created over 300 different products to sell using Essential oils and naturally based products. We make all of our own recipes. We are physically based in Nova Scotia with our main stores being in Hantsport (Casaroma Stress Reduction Centre) which is towards the valley and Dartmouth (Casaroma Wellness Centre) which is a metro location. My brother also has a clinic in Gibsons B.C. He and his team are serving that community well. My daughter Holli who is all grown up now has also joined us doing our Social media and working with clients doing life mapping and therapeutic listening. We are still going strong. Proud to say we are now three generations strong.

Before Casaroma I was an area supervisor for a national gift and service chain. I ran 25 stores in the Atlantic provinces. I was gifted with the label of “the youngest area supervisor on the team with the best percentage increases per area in Canada” . I ended up leaving that company to get married and raise a family. When my youngest was a few months old we decided it was time to open our own business, but we wanted something that we could also include my children with so we could be with them as much as possible. We literally raised my children and Casaroma at the same time. During that time I also received my certification in Aromatherapy, Reiki and Reflexology and I have earned my diploma in Nutrition.

At Casaroma, we do retail sales, teach classes and do services like biofeedback, light therapy, emf balancing, Reiki, consultations in aromatherapy, nutrition, intentional living and mental health support as well as a few other stress reduction services.

​

We have had to totally change the direction of our business over the last few years because of the pandemic. Everyone turned to online purchases which meant we needed to learn how to do that as well. We are increasing our skills to meet and join in with the online market which has kept me in numerous courses and webinars for the last 18 months. I am currently heading up our team that is focusing on our online presence with a new website design, great information and simple online ordering procedures.

When I am not doing that, I see people one-on-one for many different modalities, including Consultations with Aromatherapy and Orthomolecular Health, Reiki, Biofeedback, Aroma Beauty Sessions and Aromassage.

Allana and I also teach in-person and online courses about aromatherapy and conscious living. We also love doing public talks about many subjects including Aromatherapy, Nutrition, Healthy living, Living with conscientiousness, empowering your life, Relationships & Stress Management.

For me this is an incredible life, I love to be able to communicate. I love to teach. I love to be able to share the experience of a beautiful life and teach you how to appreciate what your own beautiful life is as well. One person’s comment from a past talk summed it up well- “Lee is empowering and funny, she can get you to think of things from a new and energized perspective”.
